Makes Dreams Come True

Saturday, January 27th, 2007

“My dad makes dreams come true,” Kurtis Hall at the Creative Arts Center Friday night. What a rush hearing Kurtis say this. I am talking with a man who asked what I do as Kurtis walked by and nonchalantly states “My dad makes dreams come true.” As Kurtis walked on I was asked what I would do to help the guy realize his dream.

Kurtis is my eleven year old son. He is getting an early start on making his dreams come true.

Oh yeah, I painted a thumb nail sketch of Enterprise Facilitation for the guy. Maybe I should have let Kurtis fill him in.

What are you doing to move closer to your dream?

"Nothing happens unless first a dream"

Monday, January 22nd, 2007

Pulitzer Prize winner Carl Sandburg had a great eye through which he viewed life and this quote gives us a (small) glimpse into that world. “Nothing happens unless first a dream.” This is our ‘normal’ state, how we come from the ‘factory.’ Some time in life we are led astray and forget to dream. Reminds me of what a wise man once said; “I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.” Nobel Prize winner Albert Einstein.

What is your dream? What are you doing to build your passion and realize your dream? It can be done.

Master Facilitator

Wednesday, January 17th, 2007

In life we are blessed to sojourn with great people as we follow our calling and sweeten our life story. One such man is Ralph D’Attorre, The Master Facilitator in UK (see what Seth has to say about ‘THE’ here). Ralph’s life reminds me of the words spoken by John F. Kennedy; Few will have the greatness to bend history itself, but each of us can work to change a small portion of events, and in the total of all those acts will be written the history of this generation.

What are you contributing to the history of this generation?

Right Track

Sunday, January 14th, 2007

I love knowing I am on the right track moving ahead. WoW clients with heartfelt dreams that will transform the world.

I read an interesting piece in the Worthwhile & Gain e-newsletter by David Batstone that got me thinking about the importance of our Enterprise Facilitation project. You can read the online version here. “Just When You Thought the Squeeze Was Over” speaks of the new staffing policies by giant retailers. David ends by asking, “Just how far can we squeeze the worker?”

This ’squeeze’ will squirt some out and we will be there to assist those folks in moving forward with their dreams. The stage is set. Excitement and anticipation swell as we lovingly build capacity to be better able to serve.

Step five - stay on track
Step six - action

Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there. Will Rogers

Great Leaders

Sunday, January 14th, 2007

Dr. Sirolli so aptly states “The future of every community lies in capturing the passion, imagination and resources of its people.” The North Texas Enterprise Project laid the groundwork sometime back for ‘capturing’ and has been pressing ahead for a fantastic future. My Board of Intelligence (60ish members) are to be commended for their vision in bringing this Enterprise Facilitation project to the region. Great leaders at so many levels. They volunteer freely, steering the project to success.

Step three - believing = action (daily)
Step four - fill the pipe line: introductions lead to clients, clients lead to success stories

Oh, introductions lead to resources too. Met another group of great leaders Friday at Texas A&M University-Commerce. I am excited looking forward to some great adventures with them.

Who do you know that could benefit from an introduction?

Our (small) Steps

Monday, January 8th, 2007

For you to truly understand our (so many folks involved) journey from that first post to now would take a lifetime. We will unfold some of those steps here and hope they enrich your life.

I have to mention the article in the North Texas e-News (again) and say we have been living the title: “strengthen local economies by helping entrepreneurs and small businesses grow.” The Board of Intelligence for the North Texas Enterprise Project has a heart of gold. Their love and believing to give wings to the Project will be remembered for generations to come. Reminds me of something Margaret Mead said: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.

Step one - stay plugged in
Step two - follow the model
