Your Brain Food

Thursday, September 30th, 2004

Tom Peters churns out words for your brain to grow by. I came across Everything You Need to Know About Strategy today and got fired up. Might need to call ‘Digger O’Dale’ if you don’t have a ting of enthusiasm when you read this manifesto.

Tom’s book Re-imagine! has to be in your library. I picked it up at Sam’s Club and saved a few bucks. Get two copies because you will want to read it with someone.

The BIG E Factor

Thursday, September 30th, 2004

“Each society is successful to the exact degree to which it supports, encourages, rewards and promotes entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial activity. Each year about 8% of companies and jobs disappear. To grow, a city, state, region or country has to replace these companies and jobs, plus create even more, to maintain the same level of economic activity and to offer opportunities to new members of the workforce.” ~ Brian Tracy ~ Something for Nothing

Interested in changing your life? Read this great book. The subtitle of Something for Nothing ~ The causes and cures of all our problems and what you can do to save the American Dream. Action is required for this change. Thanks for doing your part. It is going to take us all.

Love.

THE BRIDGE BUILDER

An old man, going a lone highway,

Came at the evening, cold and gray,

To a chasm, vast and deep and wide,

Through which was flowing a sullen tide.

The old man crossed in the twilight dim;

The sullen stream had no fears for him;

But he turned when safe on the other side

And built a bridge to span the tide.

“Old man,” said a fellow pilgrim near,

“You are wasting strength with building here;

Your journey will end with the ending day;

You never again must pass this way;

You have crossed the chasm, deep and wide -

Why build you the bridge at the eventide?”

The builder lifted his old gray head:

“Good friend, in the path I have come,” he said,

“There followeth after me today

A youth whose feet must pass this way.

This chasm that has been naught to me

To that fair-haired youth may a pitfall be.

He, too, must cross in the twilight dim;

Good friend, I am building the bridge for him.”

You never get started if you never do the verb. To dream big requires action. My action has began. Thanks for the help to keep it going. I am a winner.
